Comedian Mario Digiorgio was originally supposed to be next week’s guest, but due to some technical difficulties while recording, the episode was cut off after less than ten minutes. I’m going ahead and posting what little we were able to record because I think there is some interesting stuff and hopefully a few laughs held within. We hope to have Mario on the show for a full episode sometime in the near future.
The first comedy night in Chickasha I setup went really well, so here's to hoping the second is just as awesome. I'm once again emceeing and bringing with me six really hilarious comics and friends.
This thursday, 3/12, I'll be performing at my favorite venue in the world, the Opolis in Norman. To add to the awesomeness one of my best friends AJ Jakober will also be performing with his new band Clementwine. And Chicago band Sybris will round out the night.
The first time I performed at the Opolis I had barely been doing comedy two months, and I probably wasn't really ready. But now I'm excited to go up on that stage having more experience under my belt.
I was interviewed last week on OU's The Wire "Lokl Hour" along with fellow comedian Leah Kayajanian by host Adam Croom about the Locals Only Series 4 show. You can listen to the intervew below:
The other bands as well as organizer Chris Harris were also interviewed. Check out all the other interviews HERE.
I also just wanted to throw out a thanks to Chris Harris and all bands that played and people that came out to the Locals Only 4 show. I had a bit of a rough set, but it was still a really fun night.
I am super excited for this show. I'm performing with some really hilarious comedians and really fantastic bands. Other upcoming shows of note: March 12th - Norman, OK @ Opolis w/Sybris and Clementwine March 26th - Chickasha, OK @ Oddfellows Music Hall w/Spencer Hicks, Murph, Daniel Skaggs, Shane Parks, Stan Silliman, and Carson Jobe.
Here's a recent set from the Loony Bin in Oklahoma City's open mic. I'm pretty happy with this four minutes and have been doing this set at the Loony Bin for a few weeks and been having quite a bit of success with it.
I haven't been writing much of anything lately, and as such, this blog has become quite dormant. Though that will be changing as this blog changes focus from my journalism to my stand up comedy, which is what I've been focused on the most recently.
I'll be posting videos of my sets as well as a weekly podcast I'm doing with fellow comedian James Nghiem.
